How can your major make the world a better place?

 Hi!

This time I'm going to talk about how I think I can use my major to make the world a better place...

Some years ago I felt that many things that were implemented were not helpful to people, these things did not really make people's lives better. So when I heard about the sociology degree I felt that studying it I could help to make the world a better place. Why? because I noticed that with sociology I could understand people or society better, and therefore know better their needs. Also, with this major I could get the tools to know how to do it. 



Nowadays, studying sociology, I know that a concrete way to do that is, for example, to help in the creation of  public policies, doing research for institutions that can apply that knowledge in the society, participating in organizations, etc.

Well, that how and why I think I can use my major, sociology, to make the world a better place :)

    I felt the same way about how the necessary solutions were not implemented for the people! I hope one day you can do that, in what kind of organization you want to participate?

    I also believe that sociology can be a great contribution to make the world a better place, it is good that there are people like you studying that career!

    I also enter to study Sociology with those thoughts. I think that from Sociology we are trained with different tools to intervene and help our society.

  Hi! I'm going to talk about my favorite piece of technology: The smartphone...📱 I think i got my first smartphone when i was 11 years old, i still  have it in a drawer. Currently, i have a better smartphone, i like it because i can do a lot of things with it, such as taking pictures, watching videos, chatting with my friends, making video calls or just phone calls, searching things on google, reading, even watching online classes, etc. Besides, i think it has the ideal size to transport it easily. I think i use my smartphone for about 5 hours a day. Nowadays, i think it would be difficult not to have a smartphone because we do most things through the internet and the smartphone can help us to access the internet. Also, because the pandemic the smartphone is important to communicate with friends and family.

Blog 1- Personal Information

Hi! I'm Nicol Venegas. I was born on may 21st,2002. So, my birthday is always a holiday, which is nice. I live in Melipilla, specifically in a rural area called Mallarauco. By the way, in Mallarauco there is a legend about El   Tunel de Mallarauco,  which says that it was possible to build it because Patricio Larraín (owner of Mallarauco in the 19th century) made a pact with the devil.   Let me know i f you want to know more about the legend!  I am a member of a family of 4, and we have nine pets: 6 dogs and 3 cats. All of them are adoptated. However, i have two pets that are like my children: my cat Anastasio and my dog Sucarita. Currently, i am in my second year of sociology at the University of Chile. In my free time, I usually watch anime, read and sometimes play guitar.

Post 4- A photograph and its story

 Hi! Today i'm going to talk about the story of this photograph: This photograph was taken by me in my first concert. It shows the Harry Styles's concert in Chile on may 25th,2018. What i like about this photograph is that it makes me remember the emotion of the moment, everyone was singing and screming. Besides, i like the fact that it was taken at the moment when everyone turned on their cell phones lights with different colors. Also, another reason why i like this photograph is that it makes me look back the good moments with one of my friends and my cousin during the concert.
